Manning Construction Partnership Marks Our Halfway Point!

Over the past couple of months, we have been announcing a new Employer Partner every week. This week, our newest Employer Partner, Manning Construction, marks our tenth partnership… And our halfway point!

So far we have announced partnerships with Barnwood, TJ Services, Smith’s, Keyway, 1st Call Plant, E.G. Carter & Co, Coslin Construction, M J Church and M. V. Kelly.

Not only does the partnership with Manning Construction mark our halfway point, but they are also our first Employer Partner from across the border!

Manning Construction is a family run building services provider based in Bridgend that has been in operation for over 50 years. They are best known for their work in the power industry, most notably with the national grid and Western Power. Manning also have their own housing development sites across the country, and our team recently had the opportunity to go to one of their sites in Glynneath.

When asked about the partnership with AccXel, Stephen Euston, Manning Construction’s Managing Director said “We partnered with AccXel as the team have really thought about the issues surrounding the skills shortage construction companies are facing. As people who have worked in the industry, they have a better understanding of what we need from new recruits than other schools and colleges. We know that once their centre opens officially, they will be able to deliver the best construction training around.”

Katie Hathaway added “From speaking to all of the workers at their site in Glynneath, we can see how excited and passionate their team are to welcome new talent into the industry. Our apprentices based in Wales are going to have an incredible experience working with Manning Construction and will undoubtedly learn a lot from them!”

AccXel’s first construction skills accelerator centre will be officially opening in December and we will be welcoming our first set of apprentices in January.
