Skill STEP 1

AccXel’s bespoke Skill STEP 1 is a 3-week introductory course for construction starters. This programme equips learners with the skills and knowledge to start working in construction at an entry level, for instance as a labourer.

By the end of the course, learners will have the knowledge and skills to pass the Health, Safety & Environment to obtain the Green CSCS card.

Our team will also help our learners to find employment with our partners following the conclusion of the course.

Apprenticeships

We currently offer three apprenticeships at AccXel; in Bricklaying, Groundworks and JCB Plant Operations.

All apprenticeships start with a 3-week introductory course covering the mandatory health and safety training for working on site. Following this period, apprentices will start their learning for their chosen trade.

By the end of the programme, the apprentice will obtain an NVQ L2 in their trade and have the qualifications necessary to obtain the Skilled Worker CSCS card (subject to taking a Health, Safety and Environment test).

Plant Training

We currently offer three specialist Plant Training programmes at AccXel; 360 Tracked Excavator, Telehandler or Cabbed Dumper & Ride-on Roller.

We are soon to relaunch the JCB Backhoe training programme also.

Learners will first be taught how to safely manoeuvre the chosen vehicle in virtual reality on our Tenstar Plant Simulators. This allows our learners to master the controls in a risk-free environment. Following this, learners will proceed to actual machinery on our mock-live site.
